How do I reinstall Windows 11? – AWD-IT

If you need to reinstall Windows you will need a Windows bootable USB tool to create this follow the instructions below.

Navigate to the Windows 11 website to download the ISO file: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
Scroll down to the Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO), and select the Windows 11 Multi edition, and click Download Now:
It will prompt you to choose a language, use the drop down and select English (International) and click download.
Download Rufus via this link: https://github.com/pbatard/rufus/releases/download/v4.9/rufus-4.9_x86.exe
Open Rufus on a working PC running Windows.

DRIVE PROPERTIES

Device - select your USB storage that you want the Windows install on
Boot selection - find the Windows iso file that you have downloaded from the link above
Image operation - standard Windows installation
Partition scheme - GPT
Target system - UEFI (non CSM)

FORMAT OPTIONS

Volume label - Type in what you would like the drive to be called
File System - NTFS
Cluster size - 4096 bytes (Default)
Under advanced format options ( This may be hidden by a drop down menu arrow) tick "Quick format" and "Create extended label and icon files"

6. Click "Start"

7. A window will open called "Windows User Experience" tick the following options

8. Click "OK"

9. A warning box will pop up saying the data on the USB will be erased, click "OK"

10. Let the installation run and once finished you will be left with a bootable USB containing Windows.

To install Windows please follow this link and download and run the installer:

Plug the USB into the PC that is the target for install
reboot the PC whilst repeatedly pressing the boot key, depending on your motherboard this will be F12 for Gigabyte, F8 for ASUS, or F11 for AsRock and MSI
Select your USB storage device
The PC will boot into the Windows installation,
Now select the edition of windows you have purchased. ENSURE that when selecting you choose the correct version (HOME OR PRO check your Windows licence sticker to see which version you have.)
Click the tick box saying you agree to the Licence terms and click next.
When you reach a screen saying "UPGRADE OR CUSTOM Install” choose Custom.
A small window opens up showing your storage drives with all its partitions and file system.
Delete EVERY SINGLE ENTRY ON THAT LIST
There will be one left that you cannot delete entitled "Unallocated Space" - That is your now TOTALLY clean storage drive.
Hit next - windows will install
From here it will be a lot of clicking next and entering appropriate details such as language, time, region, etc...
whilst finishing the installation the PC may restart a few times and do updates to Windows,
